Dr. Greg Bohn, M.D.

Dr. Bohn is a Michigan native and Board Certified in Surgery, Board Certified in Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care. Dr Bohn is the Medical Director at the Westshore Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. He hopes to return to the AAWC Board and assist with organizational growth, membership expansion; particularly among physicians, and AAWC outreach projects. He is a past AAWC Board Member. While on the Board, he worked to grow the organization and expand educational opportunities for AAWC members. It was his AAWC Board involvement that lead to his Haiti Post Earth Quake volunteer experience. His relationship with fellow AAWC Board member, Barbara Bates-Jensen resulted in becoming a Founding Member of the Bates Jensen Wound REACH Foundation. The first OUCH Run event was held at SAWC Spring 2011 and raised funds for a local Dallas wound clinic and to provide travel scholarships for other wound providers to travel overseas. He has authored and published wound care articles. He has delivered invited presentations at national and regional conferences on a variety of wound and hyperbaric medicine topics. He serves on the editorial board of Advances in Skin and Wound Care Journal. Dr Bohn is the presiding President of the American Board of Wound Healing.

Dr. Tamara Fogarty, M.D., F.A.C.P

Dr. Fogarty attended the University of California, Irvine, where she graduated with degrees in both Biology and Psychology. Additionally, she holds a M.S. in Physiology from Georgetown University. Dr. Fogarty received her medical degree with honors from Brown University and completed her residency at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center with special studies in women’s health. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA School of Medicine. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

Dr. John Lantis, M.D.

Dr John Lantis is the Vice Chairman and Professor Surgery at Mount Sinai West and St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospitals and the Icahn School of Medicine in New York City. Where for the past 12 years he has served as the Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. He is the past president of the New York Vascular Society.    Dr Lantis’ clinical practice spans the fields of Vascular/Endovascular Surgery, and lower extremity wound healing In addition he directs a clinical/basic science research program in the field of lower extremity wound healing and tissue repair and is published extensively. He is a founding member of the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery, and the Vascular Study Group of Greater New York; while currently sitting on the editorial boards of WOUNDS, the Journal of Wound Care and many other journals. To date he is/or has been the principal investigator on more than 65 multi center and single center chronic wound and vascular surgery trials.

Dr. Lawrence Lavery, D.P.M., M.P.H.

Lawrence Lavery is a Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery, as well as Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Plastic Surgery, at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX.  His research group has published 210 peer reviewed papers and has received extramural funding from the Veterans Administration, the National Institute of Health, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the American Diabetes Association, and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Marta Ostler, P.T., C.W.S.

Marta Ostler is the past Manager of Northeast Wyoming Wound Care in Sheridan Wyoming, a department of Sheridan Memorial Hospital, where she has been for the past 24 years.   She joined  St Vincent’s Healthcare in their outpatient Physical Therapy department, over a year ago.   Marta is a Physical Therapist, Certified Wound Specialist, and Certified Lymphatic Therapist.  Marta specializes in  chronic wound management as well as lymphedema/edema  treatment and management.  She currently works with all types of patients with deficits in mobility ,functional strength and functional independence.     Marta is a member of the American Academy of Wound Management, the American Professional Wound Care Association, and the American Board of Wound Healing.     She also serves on the Board for the American Board of Wound Healing and the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care.

Dr. Steven J. Kavros, DPM

Dr. Steven J. Kavros has been delivering focused, advance wound healing and limb preservation initiatives throughout his professional career. Patient care, education and research are the cornerstones in his career. After nine years in private practice, five years focused on business administration of orthopedic trauma and the reference laboratory medicine industry. Dr. Kavros excelled in a 20-year career at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, then transitioned to the medical device industry focusing on regenerative medicine and its implications pertaining to advanced wound healing. As Associate Professor at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, he has presented over 1,800 scientific presentations pertaining to his research at national and international conferences. Dr. Kavros is the primary author of numerous peer reviewed papers centered on new technology and evidence-based medicine in wound healing, vascular limb preservation, biomechanics, foot and ankle orthopedics and regenerative medicine. He has brought multiple medical devices to the market involving advanced wound healing, limb preservation, and orthopedics. Dr. Kavros received his bachelor’s degree in Biology with honors and a minor in Chemistry from Rutgers University. He graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine with highest honors in surgery, orthopedics, biomechanics, and podiatric medicine.
